Woodpecker is a hidden restaurant and café bar known by those in the know. During the day you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the hot spring resort area, and at night you can enjoy a dinner prepared by the chef's specialties.
After dinner, come and enjoy a drink at the home bar around the fireplace. Every year, we obtain rare sake, which is much appreciated by our guests who love to drink.
In addition to Zao beef corned beef sandwiches and hearty Skåre burgers, you can enjoy a variety of drinks including Yamagata's local sake, wine, whiskey, and cocktails.
Breakfast can also be served with reservations made by 7:00 p.m. the day before.

The restaurant offers overwhelming cosiness that only a specialty restaurant can provide.
It is also recommended to have a relaxing meal while enjoying the view of the slopes.

"LOVE & ONIGIRI ZAO ONSEN" serves breakfast, while "ZAO stand MY" offers lunch, tea time, and dinner throughout the day.
The onigiri for breakfast offers the full flavor of rice, and when combined with miso soup, you can enjoy a good old-fashioned Japanese breakfast.
As is typical of Zao Onsen, you can enjoy shabu-shabu with lamb, domestic beef, original drinks, a menu for vegans, and a variety of sweets.
